We had the most wonderful experience at the Grange on Kalgan! We are already wanting to book our next holiday here! The owner was very accommodating and friendly. He gave us a wonderful tour of the farm and we learnt a lot. He has inspired us to live a more sustainable life. What he has done to the grounds is stunning. There is a huge variety a flora and fauna. We highly recommend this place if you are wanting to escape the city life and be still in nature.

We had a fantastic time, we travelled as a family with two children (3 & 6yo)
Wayne has a list of rules to keep guests safe and to maintain sustainability. they were all reasonable and fair rules, it took my children a while to get use to not running inside (my kids sound like a herd of elephants on wooden flooring 😂) but by a few hours they had learnt to respect the house rules and everyone had a good time.
Wayne property is beautiful, and you just need to have a look at the abundance of wildlife to understand why sustainably is so important to Wayne. We saw birds, frogs, tadpoles, chickens, sheep, alpacas and much more 💜, which was super exciting for the kids
Wayne is knowledgeable about wildlife, the surrounding areas and gave us some useful information about tourist attractions to visit.
Wayne is approachable and nice to talk to, it was nice sharing a kitchen with him
The bedrooms have been beautifully styled with million dollar views. We would come back again

Fantastic quiet location to explore east of Albany - very close to Two People Bay, Nanarup and Cheyne Beach and the Porongurups. Property is on the doorstep to the Luke Penn walk - a stunning Kalgan river walk. Ideal accommodation for keen bird watchers and those passionate about revegetation, bio-diversity and WA natives. Bedrooms have access to large verandah and long beautiful views including of the vineyards of Monte's Leap. Younger kids will delight in chickens, peacocks, alpacas and sheep. As advertised parts of living quarters and kitchen are shared with the owner who is knowledgeable and on hand to help make the most of your time in this beautiful region.

This place is great, the gardens are beautiful and the location is amazing. Wayne was really welcoming and kind, and showed us around and had lots of ideas of places we could visit at stay. He also took the kids around the farm to feed the animals and they loved it.
